ABARES is about to begin its annual survey of producers to measure how farms are performing throughout Australia.
A team of 35 collectors will be conducting face-to-face interviews of about 1900 farmers throughout Australia until December.
ABARES’ Assistant Secretary Andrea Willis said interviews will cover questions about farm structure and land use, production, costs and other aspects of their farm business.
“The surveys are a core part of the evidence base that industries and governments across Australia use in making policy and in responding to challenges,” she said.
“The data from this survey will be used to inform responses to challenges such as drought and trade disruptions.”
Ms Willis encouraged the pre-selected farmers to participate.
“The continued success of the survey, and its value to industry and government, depends on the cooperation of those participants selected to represent their industry,” she said.
“Participating in the survey gives you the opportunity to represent your industry and region. If one of our collectors contacts you, please make time to participate – your input helps ensure we have an accurate understanding of Australian agriculture.”
