New DAFF partnership to deliver Enterprise Service Management

  • Statement
  • Department
22 December 2023

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry will partner with Accenture from 2024 to deliver Enterprise Service Management services as part of a refresh of its ICT capabilities.

The program’s Senior Responsible Officer Wendie Boyd announced the partnership today, as part of its ICT strategic sourcing approach, now known as Buy IT Smart.

“This partnership will set our modern foundations for how we manage ICT requests, changes, incidents, problems, configuration and capacity – ensuring our ICT services remain smooth and stable”, Ms Boyd said.

“It will support the delivery of our core ICT services, including our ICT Service Management, associated enabling services including Service Integration and Management and our IT Service Management tools.

“We will partner with Accenture to onboard, enable and orchestrate our many internal and external ICT suppliers, providing streamlined ICT services that our staff, clients and industry need.

“Under the partnership, the department will adopt the IT service management system – ServiceNow, upgrading us to robust, industrial strength service management tooling that can support our multi-vendor environment.

“The importance of our work across trade, policy, regulation, and biosecurity means that our digital products, platforms and tools need to be able to flex and innovate to support future change. This demands integrated solutions that streamline imports and exports and underpin efficient policy, regulation and service delivery for our clients and the Australian public.”

Under the Buy IT Smart program, the department is modernising its ICT sourcing portfolio over the next 12 months by implementing market-aligned, flexible and scalable bundles to meet its evolving and changing needs.

The department's RFTs are being published progressively on the AusTender website.
