Purpose

To notify Australian exporters that the EU assigns a TRACES-NT importer ID number to importers importing Australian milk and milk products. This TRACES-NT ID “identifier” for the importer (consignee) must be provided in the Request for Export (REX) “Approval ID field” for the eCert (electronic certificate) to be generated.

Summary of key points

TRACES-NT ID “identifier” code required for all operators (Exporters, Importers and Place of Destination)

  • As part of the eCert to TRACES-NT exchange, for each certificate to be lodged successfully, a valid TRACES-NT ID “identifier” for the exporter (consignor), importer (consignee) and place of destination and establishment is required.
  • If the REX returns a “Consignee TRACES approval ID is not valid” error, contact your customer to confirm the correct importer activity identifier.

Locating the importer activity identifier

  • The importer activity identifier details must be provided in the “Approval Number” field within the Importer section of the REX.
  • Your importer will be able to advise you of the correct importer activity identifier, but you can also search the EU TRACES-NT database of operators. We recommend that you apply for an EU TRACES-NT user ID to be able to search a record and to add or update your exporter details and addresses.
  • For help with TRACES-NT, see the help page or report the problem through their log in page.

When an importer activity identifier is not available

  • The importer will need to contact the EU TRACES helpdesk to obtain the importer activity identifier allocated to the importer activity role and provide this number to their Australian exporter.
  • The exporter will need to email this identifier to exdoc.helpdesk@aff.gov.au for their assistance.
