123-2020 – Automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) expansion for 2020 is now live

31 July 2020

Who does this notice affect?

Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s class 19.1 non-commodity for containerised cargo clearance (NCCC) & class 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangements; continued biosecurity competency (CBC) providers and registered training organisations (RTOs).

What has changed?

The class 19.2 AEPCOMM approved arrangement has now been expanded to include new commodities. For more information please refer to the AEP reform webpage.

The CBC activity (2020-21/01) will be conducted via a live webinar to be held on Tuesday 4 August, 10am (AEST).

AEPCOMM accredited persons are encouraged to register for the live webinar in advance. Assessment for this session will be managed by approved CBC providers/relevant industry associations. Your assessment must be completed by 21 September 2020 and prior to using AEPCOMM for clearance of the new commodities.

The latest versions of the class 19.1 (v4.2) and class 19.2 (v9.0) requirements and conditions policy documents have now also come into effect and are available on the Requirements for operating approved arrangements webpage. As a result of these changes, the Compliance classifications for broker class approved arrangements (v3.0) has also been updated.

For those who cannot attend the live session, a recording will be made available on the CBC activities webpage soon after the webinar has concluded. Please ensure you have access to the Requirements and conditions for approved arrangement class 19.2: automatic entry processing for commodities (v9.0) document and the Approved commodities and related information for class 19.2 AEPCOMM approved arrangement webpage for the webinar and assessment.
