The Issues Paper for Review of segregation processes in Class 3.2 Approved Arrangements, has now been released for public consultation.
We invite you to comment on this Issues Paper by 8 June 2026.
The Issues Paper invites Class 3.2 Approved Arrangement holders to provide feedback on current practices for segregation within a Class 3.2 AA.
This survey of current arrangements has commenced at the request of industry. It considers current industry practices and standards for the segregation of the cooked and uncooked areas within imported pig meat processing facilities.
This review does not include an assessment of the current import conditions for pig meat, which are outlined in the Generic Import Risk Analysis (IRA) for Pig Meat released in 2004.
The paper focuses on those facilities where segregation of cooked and uncooked pig meat is maintained through both facility level procedures and physical barriers.
The conditions relating to product segregation outlined in this Issues Paper should be read in conjunction with Approved Arrangement Class 3.2 conditions.
The consultation period will conclude at 5pm (AEST) on 8 June 2026.
All feedback should be submitted via our Have Your Say page.
