We have released the draft report ‘Import risk review for the inclusion of avian material in aquaculture feed’ for public consultation. This is an addendum to the final report for ‘Assessment of a prescribed heat treatment as a risk management measure for fish and fish products for use as pet food and stockfeed’.
Consultation on the draft report is now open. Have your say by 5 pm (AEST), 26 June 2026.
The draft report considers the level of biosecurity risk associated with imported aquaculture feed that contains avian materials. It considers current scientific information, as well as industry practices and operational practicalities.
The 60-day consultation period will conclude at 5 pm (AEST) Friday, 26 June 2026.
We will carefully consider all submissions when preparing the final report. All feedback should be submitted via our Have Your Say page.
