Invitation To Attend Export Information Workshops

Watershed Reforms For Export Certification Of Grain, Seed, Nuts And Fodder

13 September 2011

The Grain Ministerial Taskforce in partnership with the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) has initiated the most significant suite of reforms and opportunities for inspection and certification services for Australia’s plant export industry in over 20 years. These reforms secure and improve Australian exporters’ competitiveness and positions Australia’s inspection and certification processes at the forefront of export industries worldwide.

What

Workshops will be held in the major grain export centres to provide detailed information about the reforms and future opportunities for the certification of plant products

Who

Representatives from AQIS, the Grain Ministerial Taskforce including the Chair Geoff Honey, and industry will speak at the workshops, covering core topics that include:

AQIS Authorised Officers (AAOs) and training

Information will be provided on what AAOs are and the training that is involved to become an AAO. How Approved Inspectors (AIs) can transition to AAOs.

Changes to Legislation

An outline of the changes in the new Export Control (Plants and Plant Products) Orders 2011 and how this affects your export business.

Fees and Charges

Revised fee structure.

Grains Industry Market Access

The establishment of the Grains Industry Market Access Forum (GIMAF).

Information technology

The release of the Manual of Importing Country Requirements and the PaDILseed library.
