2014-05 - Grain and Seed Exports - AQSIQ registration for the export of oaten hay to China

Purpose
To invite export registered establishments intending on preparing and exporting oaten hay to China the opportunity to request registration audits by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), People’s Republic of China.

Background
In order to strengthen China’s quarantine inspection management of the import and export of feed and feed additives, AQSIQ implemented Administrative Measures of Inspection, Quarantine and Supervision on Import and Export Feed and Feed Additives (AQSIQ Decree No.118). As a result, the Department of Agriculture invites export registered establishments intending on preparing and exporting oaten hay to China to be registered with AQSIQ.

Key points
The department will be preparing a recommendation list of export registered establishments for AQSIQ to consider for registration. Establishments recommended by the department for AQSIQ registration may be subject to an on-site inspection by AQSIQ officials as part of the registration process. All costs associated with AQSIQ officials (travel and accommodation) are to be borne by the establishments. Those who are currently registered.

Export registered establishment responsibilities
Advise Grain and Seed Exports Program by 14 February 2014 to request registration by AQSIQ. Requests are to be sent to grain.export@aff.gov.au and must include the following information:
