All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.

116-2023: Implementation of Unaccompanied Personal Effects (UPE) process improvements

Who does this notice affect?

All brokers, commercial operators and private importers who lodge a UPE statement (B534 or B615) into the Australian Border Force (ABF) Integrated Cargo System (ICS) or in person to ABF (for private importers).

What has changed?

Through collaboration with the ABF, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) is implementing enhancements to improve the UPE process.

Commonwealth Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Senator the Hon Murray Watt welcomed new members the Hon Jackie Jarvis MLC, Western Australian Minister for Agriculture and Food and the Hon Tara Moriarty MLC, New South Wales Minister for Agriculture and returning members.

Biosecurity Advice 2023-P03: Release of the final report for the review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh Persian lime fruit from Mexico

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the release of the final report for the review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh Persian lime fruit from Mexico.

The final report determined that the importation of commercially produced fresh Persian lime fruit (Citrus latifolia) from all commercial areas of Mexico can be permitted, subject to a range of biosecurity requirements.

The final report takes into account comments received from stakeholders on the draft report released on 6 April 2021.
