Who does this notice affect?

Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under approved arrangement Class 19, who are interested in attending an information session on the upcoming Release 3 (other email users) of industry reporting via the Biosecurity Portal.

What has changed?

The department is pleased to announce that Release 3 of Biosecurity Industry Reporting will be rolled out via the Biosecurity Portal.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the check status function within the Post Entry Biosecurity System during the period of this service disruption.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period (e.g. clients required to use the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS).

Information

Due to urgent scheduled infrastructure maintenance, there will be a scheduled service disruption (service degradation) to COLS between 23:00 to 23:45 Thursday 06 November 2025 (AEDT).

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned outage.

Information

To support system maintenance, BICON will be unavailable from 23:00 Saturday 08 November to 01:00 Sunday 09 November 2025 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to complete and submit any in-progress import permit applications prior to the commencement of this planned outage period.

Biosecurity Advice 2025-P10: Release of the final report for the release of the leaf spot pathogen Neoramulariopsis unguis-cati for the biological control of Dolichandra unguis-cati

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the release of the final risk analysis report for the release of the leaf spot pathogen, Neoramulariopsis unguis-cati for the biological control of the weed, cat’s claw creeper (Dolichandra unguis-cati).

This final report recommends that the biological control agent should be permitted to be released, subject to standard import and release conditions associated with exotic biological control agents.
