Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators who will be required to view and/or update details of their Approved Arrangement via the Approved Arrangement Management Product (AAMP).

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who are required to book and manage requests for inspections through the Biosecurity Portal using the ‘Sign in with your Digital Identity to access’ pathway.

48-2026: Biosecurity Portal – military inspections

Who does this notice affect?

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, and freight forwarders who will be required to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.

What has changed?

From 23 March 2026, the Biosecurity Portal will be updated to include military inspection types for Defence, military importers and brokers to use for lodgement.

Military inspection types will all have a ‘Military’ prefix enabling easy use and appropriate selection.

47-2026: Changes to determinations made under section 174 of the Biosecurity Act 2015

Who does this notice affect?

This notice affects stakeholders who are involved in the importation of goods into Australia, its external territories and the Torres Strait.

What is changing?

On 20 March 2026, the Legislation (Biosecurity Goods Determinations) Sunset-altering Declaration 2026, made by the Attorney-General, came into effect to align the sunsetting dates for all current determinations made under section 174 of the Biosecurity Act 2015 to 1 October 2031.
