74-2022: Measures to prevent the introduction of foot and mouth disease into Australia

Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders associated with shipping or importing goods from Indonesia.

What has changed?

There is currently an outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Indonesia. Due to this change in disease status, Indonesia will be removed from the department's FMD-free country list.

To reduce the risk of a potential incursion and help Australia maintain its current FMD-free status the department has taken the decision to make changes to import conditions for goods imported from Indonesia.

2022-13: NEXDOC Dairy – Certificate print issue

Purpose

To notify dairy stakeholders that export certificates will not print if the gross weight is not supplied within the request for export (REX) application.

2022-26: Plant Exports – Updated requirement Indonesia’s electronic Prior Notice system effective 10 May 2022

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise that the Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency (IAQA) has updated the Fresh Food of Plant Origin (FFPO) requirements under its Prior Notice system. The updated requirements come into effect on 10 May 2022.

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including Master Consolidators, vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with shipping or importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2021-22 BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

On 1 May 2022, the 2021-22 BMSB season ended.
