Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers and principal agents—associated with shipping or importing goods that are subject to increased intervention during the 2022-23 BMSB risk season, and vessels on 2022-23 BMSB season Vessel Seasonal Pest Scheme (VSPS).

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise the citrus industry that applications are now open for the accreditation of citrus orchards or blocks for the 2023 season.

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders wishing to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.

Importers of ready-to-eat berries and pomegranate arils, and brokers acting on their behalf.

Purpose

To provide further information on food safety management certificates for foods covered by this requirement.

All clients who will be required to lodge inspection requests to the department during this planned outage.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, the Biosecurity Portal will be unavailable from 16:00 Saturday 05 November to 07:00 Sunday 06 November 2022 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.
