171-2022: Updates to the Goods Determination to take effect 7 September 2022

Who does this notice affect?

Amendments to the Biosecurity (Conditionally Non-Prohibited Goods) Determination 2021 have been made as part of Australia’s response to Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD).

If you intend to import personal consignments (10kg limit, unless otherwise specified) of the meat products listed below, into Australian territory, you must comply with the new import requirements.

This notice does not affect commercial import conditions.

This notice does not affect import permit holders.

170-2022: Services Restored: Friday 02 September 2022 – COLS Add Documents function

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who are required to submit additional cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment.

Information

The service disruption to the ‘Add Documents’ feature in the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) has been resolved.

Action

Importers and customs brokers are no longer required to include text in the ‘Additional Comments’ section when submitting additional documentation. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.

168-2022: Scheduled Outage: Saturday 10 September to Sunday 11 September 2022 – BICON

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned

Information

Due to scheduled maintenance, the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system will be unavailable from 23:00 Saturday 10 September to 03:00 Sunday 11 September 2022 (AEST).

Action

Clients are advised to complete and submit any in-progress import permit applications prior to the commencement of this planned outage period.

BMSB Safeguarding Arrangement Scheme application form

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry offers the Safeguarding Arrangement Scheme as an alternative clearance pathway for Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) targeted goods shipped from target risk countries, in hard six -sided containers during the BMSB risk season, 1 September to 30 April.

Applications are open for submission annually between 28 July and 30 January.

Note: Application renewal is not automatically granted, applicants must submit a new application each year.

Information

Due to scheduled system maintenance, there will be delays to DAFF messaging from 00:00 to 04:00 Wednesday 07 September 2022 (AEST).

166‑2022: Unplanned Service Disruption: Monday 05 September 2022 – Biosecurity Portal

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge inspection requests to the department during this unplanned service disruption.

Information

The Biosecurity Portal is currently experiencing an unplanned service disruption. As a result, clients registered through MyGov Digital Identity are unable to access the portal.

Action

The department is investigating the issue as a high priority and will advise once resolved. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.

165-2022: Biosecurity Status Document (BSD) Conditions for Vessel Pratique

All vessel owners, operators, master’s, and shipping agents who represent international commercial vessels, including cruise vessels for the purposes of Australian biosecurity clearance.

What has changed?

The conditions on the Pratique section of the Biosecurity Status Document (BSD) have been updated with legislative requirements of the Biosecurity Act 2015.
