Purpose

To notify seafood stakeholders of changes to Australian Fish Names and/or scientific names for some fish species in the export documentation system (EXDOC).

191-2022:Scheduled Outage: Saturday 15 October to Sunday 16 October 2022 – Biosecurity Portal

Who does this notice affect?

All clients who will be required to lodge inspection requests to the department during this planned outage.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, the Biosecurity Portal will be unavailable from 16:00 Saturday 15 October to 07:00 Sunday 16 October 2022 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned maintenance period.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.

Biosecurity Advice 2022-P09 - Announcement of the commencement of the pest risk analysis for cut flower and foliage imports – part 3

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the formal commencement of the Pest Risk Analysis for Fresh Cut Flowers and Foliage Imports – Part 3. The department expects to release the draft report for public consultation in mid-2023.

Fresh cut flowers and foliage have been imported into Australia on a commercial basis for over 50 years. With this trade comes the potential to introduce unwanted pests and diseases into Australia.

All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge inspection requests to the department.

Information

The unplanned service disruption to the Biosecurity Portal has now been resolved. Clients registered through MyGov Digital Identity can access the portal as normal.

Action

No action required. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.

187-2022: Scheduled Outage: Saturday 08 October to Sunday 09 October 2022 – MARS

Who does this notice affect?

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned outage.

Information

To support system maintenance, the Maritime Arrivals Reporting Systems (MARS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Saturday 08 October to 06:30 Sunday 09 October 2022 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge inspection requests to the department during this unplanned service disruption.

Information

The Biosecurity Portal is currently experiencing an unplanned service disruption. As a result, clients registered through MyGov Digital Identity are unable to access the portal.

Action

The department is investigating the issue as a high priority and will advise once resolved.
