Effective date for levy returns: 1 July 2020
From 1 July 2020, the research and development (R&D) component of the rice levy, will increase from $2.94 per tonne to $5.94 per tonne. The total rice levy rate will be $6.00 per tonne. It will apply to the bi-annual rice return for the levy period ending 31 December 2020 that is due by 28 January 2021 and onwards.

This notice is of interest to all vessel masters and shipping agents who represent international commercial and non-commercial vessels for the purposes of Australian biosecurity clearance.

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise that an additional teleconference will be held to discuss the Consultation Draft Export Control (Plants and Plant Products) Rules 2020 with industry on 12 June 2020.
The department recognises that some customers may be affected by natural disasters. These customers may be facing financial hardship and experience difficulties in paying overdue debts.
Affected customers can email ARhelpdesk@aff.gov.au or call 1800 647 531 to request a payment arrangement for overdue debt.
The department will consider these requests on a case by case basis. You will be required to provide evidence and documentation to support your request.
Regional Assurance Managers (RAMs) work as part of a regionally based team to provide support to third-party AOs and their employers (their clients).
RAMs are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective and productive relationships with their clients and working with them to ensure that plant export policies are understood and adhered to.
