Notice for a levy payer register for wool

Revocation of Notice Dated 10 June 2020

This notice revokes and replaces the notice entitled “Notice for a levy payer register for wool” dated 10 June 2020 and previously published on the Department’s website.

Research and development corporation: Australian Wool Innovation Limited

Date of notice: 27 August 2020

Effective date for levy returns: 28 February 2021*

*NB: This notice applies to wool levy returns for transactions from 1 January 2021, including annual wool levy returns for 2021-22 and onwards. It does not apply to the 2020-21 annual wool levy returns for transactions between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, which are also due on 28 August 2020.

Notice:

In accordance with subregulation 10(4A) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Regulations 1991, this notice is to inform you that a digitised levy payer register is being kept for the affected collection product by Australian Wool Innovation Limited.

Australian Wool Innovation Limited is an eligible recipient of levy payer information under paragraph 27A(2)(k) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1991.

For the wool levy return for wool transactions from 1 January 2021, agents or levy payers submitting a return must include levy payer information.

Levy payer information consists of:

  1. the name, address, contact details (either a phone number or email address), ABN (if any) and ACN (if any) of each person who has paid, or is liable to pay, a levy or charge for the affected collection product (the levy payer),
  2. the total amount (in kilograms) of the wool sold, bought, exported, used or processed,
  3. the sale or free-on-board value of the wool, and the amount of levy or charge each levy payer has paid or is liable to pay for the period to which the return relates.

You can lodge your return online at agriculture.gov.au/levies-online.
