18-2020 - Nomination of Approved Arrangements using Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) Enquiry Category

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who request a ‘Location Change’ using the ‘Request a Reassessment’ function in the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS).

What has changed?

There are no changes to the COLS system but the Department has noted an increased use of ‘Request a Reassessment’ to change Approved Arrangement locations.

The use of the ‘Request a reassessment’ category is out of scope as a category currently exists to manage location change requests.

Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders associated with the biosecurity inspection of sea freight containers imported into Australia—including Shipping Lines, Vessel Agents, Stevedores, wharf/terminal operators, Biosecurity Industry Participants, and importers — associated with the biosecurity inspection of sea freight containers imported into Australia.

16-2020 - Offshore Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Treatment Providers Scheme: reinstatement of Italian treatment provider - Centro Disinfestazione Livornse Srl (IT4004SB)

Who does this notice affect?

Clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers and customs brokers—associated with importing goods that require BMSB treatment during the BMSB risk season (goods shipped between 1 September 2019 that arrive in Australian territory by 31 May 2020 (inclusive).

Small Business Support

The pilot Regional Small Business Support Program (RSBSP) ended on 30 June 2023.

Established in January 2020, the RSBP was delivered through the Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS). The program provided free financial counselling to small regional businesses experiencing financial hardship due to:

  • drought
  • the 2019– 20 bushfires
  • COVID-19
  • flooding events in 2022 and 2023.
