All livestock consignments exported by sea must be held and prepared at a registered establishment (RE).
We must approve your establishment before you use it to prepare livestock for export. Your approval will outline what your establishment can hold, including:

Follow these steps to become a livestock exporter.
To export livestock, you must have a livestock export licence. An export licence is valid for 5 years (unless a different expiry date is set on the licence).
You can prepare livestock for export if you are a licensed exporter and have an approved arrangement (AA) and
The Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) is a regulatory requirement. Exporters must meet requirements in ESCAS to export feeder or slaughter livestock from Australia.
For the purpose of export, we define livestock as sheep, goats, cattle, deer, buffalo, and camelids. ESCAS only applies to feeder and slaughter livestock. It does not apply to breeder livestock.
