About this response
On 19 September 2024, the Code of Conduct for Australian Winegrape Purchases (Code) was referred to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee (the Committee) for inquiry.
The Committee’s inquiry followed work commissioned by Agriculture Ministers in March 2024, to develop a national approach to address the oversupply of red wine and support future balance and profitability returning to the sector. On 28 February 2025 the Committee tabled a report containing 5 recommendations.
The Government Response was tabled in the Senate on 23 April 2026.
