2021-11: NEXDOC Dairy – Changes to Certificates for China

Date of issue: 15 April 2021

Date of effect: 17 May 2021

Attention:

  • Registered dairy exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, approved export permit issuers and EDI users.
  • Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment - Central and Regional offices.

Purpose

To notify stakeholders that from Monday 17 May 2021 all China certificates for dairy must be issued and printed via the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

Key points

NEXDOC is a new web-based export system with enhanced features and improved user experience. This new system will go live for dairy to all countries on 17 May 2021, replacing the current Export Documentation (EXDOC) system. For further information on how this change may impact your current software solution, please contact your software provider.

From 17 May 2021, no dairy certificates for China are to be issued or printed via the EXDOC system. All Request for Permit (RFP’s) in EXDOC for dairy to China must be finalised and printed by close of business (COB) Sunday 16 May 2021.

China certificates issued out of EXDOC for dairy on or after 17 May 2021, have a high risk of being detained. To prevent this risk, please finalise all existing RFP’s in EXDOC by COB
16 May 2021 and lodge all new Request for Export (REX’s) in NEXDOC from 17 May 2021 onwards.

For all other countries, you will have until COB Sunday 13 June 2021 to finalise and print your existing dairy RFP’s (i.e. where the export permit has been raised and issued in EXDOC prior to 17 May 2021), before it is closed completely to dairy transactions. Please note, all new REX’s for dairy must be lodged in NEXDOC from 17 May 2021.

You will need to register to use NEXDOC for dairy as a client group (formally known as an EDI user), and if required, export user. Please ensure that you complete your registration through either the online services portal or via the application form which can be found on the transitioning commodities to NEXDOC page. For more information on how to register you can visit the NEXDOC help page.

If you require any further information, please check the NEXDOC project page for updates.

Software users

The department continues to work with software providers and have advised them of the changes to key dates in relation to the rollout of NEXDOC for dairy.

It is important that you also work closely with your software provider to ensure that your system needs are met, and you are well positioned to commence using NEXDOC on 17 May 2021.

If you have any further queries, please contact the Enhanced Traceability Project via EnhancedTraceabilityProject@aff.gov.au
