The listed International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) accredited laboratories and Naktuinbouw Authorized Laboratories (NAL) are approved by the department to perform purity analysis on seeds imported for planting and consumption into Australia.
Certificates issued by the listed accredited laboratories must meet import conditions in the Biosecurity Import Conditions system (BICON), including standards listed in the seed contaminants and tolerance tables.
ISTA accredited laboratories seeking to be added to the department approved seed testing laboratory list may contact the department at imports@aff.gov.au, and provide details of current ISTA accreditation. Australian laboratories must also be an Approved Arrangement (Class 5.2), please contact Approved Arrangements section if you require further information.
