Supply chain management system requirements

Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, August 2019

This guide may be used by importers in developing a Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) to support an application for a permit to import fresh cut flowers and foliage into Australia. An SCMS is used to describe the control measures that an importer proposes to implement throughout their supply chain to prevent the arrival in Australia of pests of biosecurity concern with consignments of imported fresh cut flowers and foliage.

SCMS’ support the implementation of systems approaches. The CSIRO have developed a toolkit for the design and validation of systems approaches which may provide additional context when developing a SCMS.
