Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, BICON users may experience several intermittent outages from 16:00 to 23:59 Sunday 29 October 2023 (AEDT).

Action

Users are advised to frequently save any in-progress permit applications during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Due to scheduled maintenance, the Maritime and Aircraft Reporting System (MARS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Thursday 26 October to 03:00 Friday 27 October 2023 (AEDT).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

Biosecurity Advice 2023-P09: Commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh guava fruit from Taiwan

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the formal commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh guava fruit for human consumption from Taiwan.

We expect to release the draft report for public consultation in the second half of 2024.

To advise stakeholders that the department intends to publish the updated Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL) on 30 November 2023. A final draft of ASEL 3.3 is available here.

Review of the Wheat Port Code

The department has kicked off a review of the Wheat Port Code of Conduct and is inviting stakeholders to have their say.

Pest control

The purpose of this guideline is to:

  • inform industry and department staff of the requirements around pest and vermin control procedures at export registered establishments, and
  • ensure pests and vermin do not jeopardise the wholesomeness of meat and meat products.

This guideline is applicable to all export meat establishments registered under the commodity Rules (meat, wild game, poultry, and rabbit).
