50-2023: *Update* Scheduled Outage: Saturday 04 March to Sunday 05 March 2023 – BICON impacted, COLS, OPS and PEBS unavailable

Who does this notice affect?

All clients attempting to submit permit applications and access invoices using the Department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned outage.

All clients who will be required to make an online payment during this planned outage.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned outage.

Cutting down importers of illegal timber products

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has fined 14 furniture importers over $186,000 last week because they didn’t act to minimise the risk of importing illegally harvested timber.

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who are required to book and manage requests for import inspections using the Biosecurity Portal.

Information

The unplanned service disruption to the Biosecurity Portal has been resolved. Clients using the ‘other user’ channel are now receiving verification codes and password reset emails as normal.

No action required. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
