156-2022: Cat and Dog imports to Australia – Christmas shutdown arrangements

Who does this notice affect?

This notice is for all airlines, freight forwarders, pet transport companies and importers of cats and dogs to Australia.

What has changed?

Companion animal services will remain fully operational until COB Friday, 24 December 2022 and will re-open at the commencement of business on Tuesday 3rd January 2023.

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who are required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who are required to report pre-arrival information.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who are required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System.

Information

The unplanned outage to the following systems has been resolved. Clients can now access these systems as normal:

Information

The following systems are currently experiencing an unplanned outage:

Passionfruit from Vietnam

We have published import conditions for fresh passionfruit from Vietnam on our Biosecurity Import Conditions system (BICON). Import permits can now be issued.

The decision to commence imports will be a commercial decision between an exporter in Vietnam and an importer in Australia. The importer must meet the import conditions as set out in BICON.

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON) during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, BICON users may experience several intermittent outages from 16:00 to 23:59 Sunday 28 August 2022 (AEST).

Action

Users are advised to frequently save any in-progress permit applications during this maintenance period.

152-2022: Scheduled Outage: Friday 26 August to Saturday 27 August 2022 – COLS, MARS

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.

151-2022: Service Disruption: Wednesday 24 August 2022 – BICON

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned maintenance period.

Information

The department is conducting I.T. infrastructure maintenance from 23:00 to 23:05 Wednesday 24 August 2022 (AEST).

BICON will still be available during this time, however users will not be able to complete the following operations:

Who does this notice affect?

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs attempting to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS).

Information

The unplanned service disruption to the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) has been resolved. Clients can now create and progress bookings as normal.

No action required. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
