Following a competitive, open-tender process, Beanstalk AgTech were selected as the delivery partner for the Drought Resilience Commercialisation Initiative (the Initiative) and delivered this through their Drought Venture Studio.
The Initiative is a $10 million, 2-year pilot. It provided a challenge-oriented commercialisation service to drought resilience innovators with research, intellectual property (IP) or a new idea to build drought resilience, and provided commercialisation support to bring viable products and services to market.
The Initiative aims to accelerate the availability of drought resilience tools for Australian farmers and farming communities.
Opportunities for innovation
Guided by the most significant drought-related challenges facing Australian agriculture, as part of their Drought Venture Studio, Beanstalk Agtech have now selected almost 100 participants to undertake a program of early-stage venture creation.
Of these, 8 ventures with the best drought resilience innovations for Australian farmers have been matched with an experienced Founder and are currently receiving an additional year of dedicated commercialisation support.
