Bringing cats and dogs to or from Norfolk Island

We manage the risk of diseases and pests of biosecurity concern under the Biosecurity Act 2015. The Biosecurity Act 2015 and its subordinate legislation sets out biosecurity arrangements and responsibilities for the movement of cats and dogs into Australian territory, including the external territory of Norfolk Island.

Cats and dogs may be imported into Norfolk Island from mainland Australia and New Zealand. You must meet all animal import requirements first.

You must also meet our requirements before you import a cat or dog into mainland Australia from Norfolk Island.

You can find general information about importing to Norfolk Island at External Territories.
