Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry July 2025
A completed and endorsed Veterinary Health Certificate must accompany all consignments of canine semen imported to Australia. The department has prepared a veterinary health certificate template, which can be downloaded from the link below, to assist overseas government veterinarians when preparing this certificate.
An official government veterinarian or government approved veterinarian must complete the veterinary health certificate. An official government veterinarian within the country of export must then sign and endorse the veterinary health certificate.
A separate veterinary health certificate must be completed for each donor dog.
The department has negotiated country-specific veterinary health certificates for frozen canine semen exported from the Netherlands and Spain. Please ensure that you download the appropriate veterinary health certificate relevant to the country of export of your goods.
