The National Biosecurity Forum brings key stakeholders together to:
- discuss challenges, opportunities and innovation
- hear about efforts to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from pests and diseases
- strengthen and expand partnerships.
It is held every two years on behalf of the National Biosecurity Committee.

2025 forum
The 2025 National Biosecurity Forum will be held from 5 to 7 November in Canberra.
This year’s forum is by invitation-only and will feature:
- an opening plenary session
- a series of targeted workshops
- the Australian Biosecurity Awards presentation
- the official launch of the Biosecurity Business Network.
Workshops will explore key challenges facing the national biosecurity system aligned with the National Biosecurity Strategy. Topics include:
- sustainable funding and investment
- biosecurity research and innovation priorities
- emergency response arrangements reform.
Invited stakeholders will have the opportunity to share insights and ideas, contributing to a more connected, resilient and shared biosecurity system.
A communique will be published after the forum to summarise the discussions.
Australian Biosecurity Awards
Winners of the Australian Biosecurity Awards are announced as part of the forum.
These awards recognise commitment to Australia’s biosecurity and the systems that uphold it. They are open to individuals, groups and organisations.
