Who does this notice affect?

Customs brokers and importers who import uncooked pig meat.

What has changed?

Effective 17 September 2020, all uncooked imported pig meat phone enquiries and related uncooked imported pig meat email contact with the department are to change as follows:

  1. Phone Calls

All uncooked pig meat phone enquiries are to be directed to the department on 1800 900 090.

Issue

The fundamental process for achieving an effective biosecurity treatment is the same regardless of the jurisdiction the treatment is performed in and the intended destination of the goods.
