Public consultation on the draft Commonwealth Fisheries Bycatch Policy

Thank you for your interest in the development of the revised Commonwealth Fisheries Bycatch Policy. The revised Commonwealth Fisheries Bycatch Policy (Bycatch Policy) was developed in consultation with key stakeholders and  provides a framework for managing fishing-related impacts to bycatch species in Commonwealth fisheries.

The revised policy draws upon the outcomes of the Report on the review of the Commonwealth Policy on Fisheries Bycatch of May 2013, international best practice and feedback from stakeholders.

The draft revision of the policy was released for public comment over the five week period ending 9 June 2017. All submissions received are publicly available.
