Who does this notice affect?

This notice is of relevance to importers, customs brokers and agents, exporters of live fish and other seafood, biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under the department’s Approved Arrangements (classes 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3) who are involved in the import of used fish bins into Australian territories via air and sea freight.

The department would like to provide an update on turnaround times for permit applications to import animal and microbial derived goods for human consumption, human therapeutic use, human cosmetic use, and ornamental goods.

2021-37: NEXDOC Dairy – AEPI functionality

  • Registered dairy exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, and automated export permit issuers.

Purpose

To notify dairy stakeholders of the Automated Export Permit Issuers (AEPI) functionality available in the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system.

205-2021: Gateway Clearance of Sea Cargo

Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries including cargo reporters (freight forwarders, transport companies, shipping lines), stevedores, importers, customs brokers, and any other operators in the supply and logistics chain that are responsible for reporting sea containers and break bulk arriving in to Australia destined for clearance at a different destination to the discharge port.

Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, BICON users may experience several intermittent outages from 16:00 to 23:59 Sunday 26 September 2021 (AEST).

Action

Users are advised to frequently save any in-progress permit applications during this maintenance period.

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.
