The Farm Household Allowance (FHA) guidelines provide a high-level view of the policy for FHA. These guidelines are designed to assist applicants, decision makers, and reviewers to understand the FHA legislation. The information contained in this publication should be read in conjunction with the relevant legislation.

To discuss individual circumstances, please contact Services Australia Farmer Assistance hotline on 132 316 between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

There are 2 versions of the Guidelines:

  • Farm Household Allowance Guidelines from 1 July 2024 – this version reflects FHA policy settings effective from 1 July 2024.
  • Farm Household Allowance Guidelines – this version reflects FHA policy up to 30 June 2024. This version of the guide should only be used to assist with the historical FHA policy settings in place before 1 July 2024.
