Purpose
To advise stakeholders that revised draft arrangements for scheduling imported cargo inspections are now available for comment through the department’s 'Have Your Say’ platform.
Key points
Draft Policy
The Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry has established scheduling arrangements for cargo inspections based on the volume and type of cargo that an approved arrangement or third-party premises (site) may handle.
The proposed arrangements include:
Standard appointment
- A single appointment for an individual consignment only.
Group appointment
- A single appointment for multiple consignments or inspections.
Recurring appointment (formerly manned depots and permanent arrangements)
- A regularly scheduled appointment for multiple consignments.
- A voluntary arrangement available for entities handling significant volumes of consignments.
- Appointment frequency may range from a weekly, full or part day attendance, to the allocation of multiple departmental officers, on one or multiple days per week.
