Changes to the Pig slaughter levy

​Starting 1 July 2016, the overall rate for the pig slaughter levy will be increased from $3.125 per head to $3.425 per head. The $0.30 increase is the final increment in the $0.90 per head marketing levy increase approved by the Prime Minister and the Minister on 24 May 2012.

Information on Lodging your Returns

Monthly returns

If you are a pig slaughter levy payer/agent, you will be required to:

  • use the current levy rate for your June 2016 monthly return – due on or before 28 July 2016
  • use the new levy rate for all future returns starting with your July 2016 monthly return – due on or before 28 August 2016
