From 1 July 2026, the levy components for strawberry runners will change. The biosecurity response component will increase by 19 cents per 1,000 runners, while the research and development component will decrease by the same amount.
The total levy rate for strawberry runners will not change.

GST does not apply to Australian Government levies.
Strawberries Australia Inc requested the change to repay the industry’s contribution to the national biosecurity emergency response to Varroa mite (Varroa destructor), which was underwritten by the Australian Government.
