From 1 October 2026, the levy and export charge rate for stone fruit harvested in Australia and sold, processed or exported will increase from 1 cent per kilogram to 1.1 cents per kilogram.
This increase applies to the biosecurity response component of the levy and export charge.
Summerfruit Australia Limited requested the change to repay the industry’s contribution to the national biosecurity emergency responses to Varroa mite (Varroa destructor) and Exotic Fruit Fly in the Torres Strait, which were underwritten by the Australian Government.
