This product contains the latest Total Factor Productivity (TFP) estimates for Australian broadacre and dairy farms. These estimates are produced using ABARES farm survey data from 1977–78 to 2022–23. The data is presented by industry, state and region.

National winter crop production forecast to be above average in 2024–25 at 51.3 million tonnes, with increases in area planted and yields of cereals and pulses. Summer crop production in 2023–24 forecast to have remained above average at 4.6 million tonnes, but below previous year’s high.

Value of Australia’s farm production forecast to be third highest on record in 2024–25 at almost $84 billion, an increase on 2023–24 with improved seasonal conditions and higher livestock prices. Average cash incomes for broadacre farms also forecast to increase.
